General information and frequently asked questions
What is coaching? | Coaching occurs when a person with a need or desire to meet a certain outcome - generally in the area of developing their personal or professional wellbeing engages in finding a professional coach who can guide them in meeting that outcome.
What is the aim of getting a coach? | People enlist a coach for many reasons and from all walks of life, cultures, ethnicity, expertise, designation and experience. Behind all reasons in getting a coach there are at least two certainties:
- Ultimately a person recognises they want 'difference' in their life and that comes in the form of having more of, less of, neither of or something new than what is currently happening.
- That there is a goal to achieve, or a destination point to head towards.
Through engaging with a coach here at The Koru Effect we will focus you on reaching your destination point, and guide you in obtaining that difference which has been identified as important to you. We have three options available in terms of coaching process; and use a variety of tools and personal experience from people development and coaching to help you do this.
What happens in coaching? | An outcome is agreed to at the beginning of each session, discussions are held to explore and understand what is occuring and what the client is wanting to change. We guide the client to meet that outcome through a series of discussions and change processes.
Where does coaching occur? | We like to ensure that clients always feel safe and comfortable. Most coaching occurs in a quite, private and warm space. Occassionaly we meet at an offsite location, depending on specific requirements of the programme. Location changes are always discussed and agreed to well ahead of time.
Do you follow codes and ethics? | Yes, most definitley and in our opinion any good practicing coach will align themselves with standards in their area of expertise. We follow the guidelines of the three organisations we belong to. And, standards set out by Mozaix International the parent company.
